DENVER ?“ Idaho?™s Russ Winger and Dee Olson have been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference men?™s and women?™s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Winger, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo., posted back-to-back shot put wins, taking the title at the McDonald?™s Open and the Vandal Indoor. He threw 58-6 and 58-6.75, respectively, to reach the NCAA provisional mark.
Olson, a sophomore from Estacada, Ore., won the 800 meters at the Vandal Indoor in a school-record time of 2:09.74. She bested the old mark of 2:10.93.
