RUSTON - After averaging 20.5 points per game, 12.6 rebounds per game and recording a total of 49 blocks, Louisiana Tech star juniorr forward Paul Millsap has been named to SI.com?™s NCAA Basketball Mid-Season All-American Team among other stars such as Gonzaga?™s Adam Morrison and Indiana?™s Marco Killingsworth.
"I take it as a tremendous compliment," Millsap said, as he continues to quest for a three-peat of the NCAA Rebounding Championship award, a feat never before accomplished by any collegiate athlete. "It?™s more important to me that we win games."
SI.com has put the 6?™8" junior from Grambling at Third-Team All-American and the only player from the Western Athletic Conference to receive the honor.
"I wish it was higher," Millsap said as he laughed, "but you have to take what you get."
Millsap has played a big part in the success of the 2005-06 Bulldogs squad that stands at 14-8 overall and in sole possession of first place in the conference at 7-2 in WAC play.
"It?™s going to make me want to go out there and play harder," Millsap said. "I really want people to know that I can play."
