Boise State travels to Fullerton, Calif., to compete at Cal State Fullerton in a WAC matchup. The Broncos are ranked 34th nationally this week with a team score average of 191.512. Cal State Fullerton is currently ranked 44th with a season average of 190.319. Boise State?™s leaders so far include senior Katie Dinsmore (season high of 9.875 on vault and 9.775 on beam), junior Lindsay Ward (season high 9.85 on bars and 9.875 on beam), and freshman Taylor Jacob (season high 9.75 on bars and 9.775 on floor). Last week, Fullerton lost to No. 10 UCLA. Fullerton was paced by the efforts of senior Brooke Weigandt and junior Brittany Evans, who finished third on bars and beam, respectively. Weigandt scored 9.75 while Evans posted a season-high 9.825.

UTAH STATE AND SOUTHERN UTAH REMAIN IN THE TOP 30 - In this week?™s rankings, Utah State moved from No. 26 to No. 28. Although the Aggies lost to BYU, they remained in the top 30. Southern Utah is No. 27 this week after a second place 193.100 score at Boise State. The Broncos are inching there way to the top 30. Boise State is No. 34 this week after a WAC-high score of 194.225 last week at home..
XBOX LIVE GYMNAST OF THE WEEK ?“ San Jose State?™s Michelle Minotti has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week for the week of Feb. 6. This is the second-straight WAC Gymnast of the Week honor for Minotti.
Minotti, a sophomore from Rohnert, Calif., won the all-around with a score of 39.050 against Seattle Pacific and Illinois-Chicago. It was the second-highest all-around score in the WAC this season. Minotti was second on the vault with a career-best 9.825, which was the second-best vault score in the WAC this season. She was also part of the school record-breaking vault team scored of 48.875. It beat the old score of 48.725 during the 2003 season. Minotti tied for first on the beam with a scored of 9.725.
Other nominees included: Katie Dinsmore of Boise State scored an all-around score of 38.95 as the Broncos defeated Southern Utah and Alaska. … Meagan Lewis of Utah State scored a 38.775 in the all-around as the lost to BYU.
GYMNASTICS RETURNS TO THE WAC - The Western Athletic Conference welcomes back gymnastics for the 2006 season. The last season the WAC had gymnastics was 1993. The last WAC Championship was held at Boise Pavillion on March 20, 1993. Utah captured that title. Southern Utah and Boise State are the only team?™s from that championship competing in the current WAC.
2006 WAC GYMNASTICS MEET ?“ The first WAC Gymnastics Championship since 1993 will be help in Logan, Utah on the campus of Utah State. The meet will rotate schools every year. This year?™s meet will be held March 25.
REGIONAL AND NATIONALS ?“ The west coast will be the site NCAA Championship this season as Oregon State and Gill Coliseum will host the 2005 NCAA Championship on April 20-22, 2006. The WAC will compete in the West Regional on April 8 in Stanford, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton Titans (2-5, 1-3 WAC)
No. 10 UCLA swept individual honors on vault and floor, while Bruins freshman Kristina Comforte posted a perfect 10 on the vault to help lift UCLA to victory over host Cal State Fullerton in the first-ever "Beauty and the Beast" at Titan Gym ... in a unique competition that featured the Titans wrestling team competing alongside the gymnasts in a simultaneous competition, the Bruins scored a 195.925 to top the Titans?™ 190.050.
Sacramento State Hornets (4-7, 2-0 WAC)
The Hornets are back in action this week against California ... Sacramento State has been off since Jan. 22 ... in their last meet, sophomores Alexis Tsurumoto and Melissa Genovsese and senior Trista Condren each won individual titles to help lead Sacramento State tos a first-place finish against Cal State Fullerton and Alaska Anchorage ... the Hornets scored a season-best 192.425 and finished over a point ahead of the Titans (191.375) ... the Seawolves were third with 189.825.
San Jose State Spartans (7-5, 3-1 WAC)
SJSU had a school record 48.875 on the vault ... SJSU finished the meet with a 192.950 and defeated Seattle Pacific who scored a 190.225 and UIC who posted a 189.675 ... Michelle Minotti won the all-around with a season-best 39.050 ... SJSU?™s vault bested the school record of 48.725 set against Cal on March 21, 2003 ... four recorded career bests on the vault, Minotti with a 9.825, Shina Cardeno and Renae Moneymaker with a 9.775 and Veronica Porte with a 9.750.
