San Jose State defeated Miami University (Ohio), 9-3, on Sunday to sweep a three-game non-conference series at Municipal Stadium and give head coach Sam Piraro his 600th win at the helm of the Spartans.
The winningest head coach in San Jose State history, Piraro now has a record of 600-451-6 in his 19th on-the-field season.
"There were three things that got me to 600 victories," remarked Piraro. "First, it shows I?™ve had a lot of good players over the years. Second, it shows I?™ve had assistant coaches of high quality. Third, it shows that I?™m tough enough to stand the test of time, health-wise. To reach 600 is definitely a blessing."
