Several WAC swimmers and divers competed at the 2006 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships held in Athens, Ga., March 16-18. Hawai?i scored 90 points to finish in 15th place while three of its student-athletes were named All-Americans.
Wahine diver Rui Wang had the best finish of any WAC athlete, placing second in platform diving with a score of 320.00. She also took sixth in the 3-meter and 15th in the 1-meter. QiongJie Huang also performed well in the diving events with a third place finish on the 1-meter, fifth on the 3-meter and 13th on platform. Their teammate, Nicole Mackey posted a time of 53.35 in the 100-yard backstroke to garner a fourth place finish.
Hawai?i's diving trio of Huang, Wang and Megan Farrow earned more team points in diving than any other diving squad at the NCAA Championships.
The College Swimming Coaches Association awards All-American honors to any student-athlete that finishes in the top eight and honorable mention accolades to those that finish 9-16. Below is the complete list of WAC student-athletes and their finishes in the championships.
