Nevada defeated San Jose State on Thursday night, 83-60, to earn the top seed in next week's WAC Tournament that will be played in Reno, March 9-11. It is the third year in a row that the Wolf Pack have been the number one seed and second straight season that they have won the WAC's regular season title outright. Nevada won the 2004 WAC Tournament in Fresno, but lost in the quarterfinals last year in Reno. The Wolf Pack have won 10 straight games as they head into the regular season finale against Fresno State on Saturday night.
The men's bracket for the tournament is now half determined. The quarterfinals will begin next Thursday with sixth-seeded Boise State facing the three seed at 12:00 p.m. (PT). The 2:30 game will feature #7 San Jose State versus the two seed. Nevada will host the eighth seed, Idaho, at 6:00 p.m. with the four and five seeds facing off at 8:30.
Hawaii, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State and Utah State are all competing for seeds 2-5. Those will be determined Saturday following the completion of the WAC's regular season.

*NOTE: A draw was conducted between Hawai'i and Utah State in the case of both teams winning on Saturday and finishing in a tie for second with 11-5 records. The two teams would have split their two meetings, split with Nevada, gone 2-2 versus Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State as a group and split with Fresno State giving each team its five losses. Therefore, rule b.1.c. was invoked (see below). Utah State won the draw and would be the No. 2 seed while Hawai'i would be the No. 3 seed in this scenario.
