DENVER ?“ New Mexico State?™s Danny Bowen has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.

Bowen, a senior from Albuquerque, N.M., won his first collegiate tournament as he outlasted teammate Ben Kreger in a one-hole playoff to capture the individual medal at the Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz. Behind Bowen and Kreger?™s play, the Aggies, as a team, won their second tournament of the year and third ever under head coach Scott Lieberwirth. Bowen, who fired three consecutive rounds under 70 (69-68-68), won the event with a three-round score of 5-under-par 205. Bowen currently leads the Aggies with four top-10 finishes and a scoring average of 71.96. The Aggies two wins this season mark the first time since the 1995-96 season that NMSU has won two tournaments in the same year. That season, the Aggies won the NMSU/Coca-Cola Classic and the Red Raider Intercollegiate.

Others nominated: Graham DeLaet, Boise State and Danny Buell, San Jose State.
