DENVER ?“ Hawai'i?™s Ryan Sceats has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Men?™s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 3.
Sceats, a senior from Perth, Western Austrailia, went 3-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles action with teammate Jarrod Diepraam. He helped 59th-ranked Rainbow Warriors improve to 8-4 and extend win streak to five-straight.
He moved to No. 2 for the first time since his sophomore year and posted wins over UW-Green Bay's Mark Goldin, 6-0, 6-0, and UC Davis' Michael Chin, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (9. The senior has won five-straight singles matches and leads the team with a 19-5 record including an 11-1 mark in dual matches. Over the last two years, is 26-3 in singles dual matches. In doubles play, he and Diepraam improved to 13-6 including 10-2 in dual matches at the No. 1 position. The duo extened their win streak to nine straight.
