NEW YORK - With the 47th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz selected Louisiana Tech's Paul Millsap on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden in New York. Millsap was the only WAC player selected in the draft.
"We feel pretty good," Millsap’s agent Deangelo Simmons said. "It was a long wait but worth it. It worked out well for him and his family. We’re very happy for him."
Millsap led the NCAA in rebounding an unprecedented three consecutive years in a row and was named first-team All-WAC in his sophomore and junior years. Millsap will look to be the second Louisiana Tech ball player to become a legend for Utah after Karl Malone.
