Three WAC Players Named Freshman All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. - The 2006 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team includes three WAC players in Fresno State second baseman Eric Wetzel, Hawai?i relief pitcher Matt Daly and Louisiana Tech outfielder Jericho Jones.

Wetzel, a first team all-WAC selection, hit .322 with 10 doubles, two triples, 20 RBI and stole eight bases for the WAC champion Bulldogs.  Daly posted a 6-0 record with one save and a 1.88 ERA with 40 strikeouts and 18 walks for the Rainbows.  Jones was named the WAC's Freshman of the Year and was also a first team all-WAC selection after hitting .370 with 16 home runs and 56 RBI.
