DENVER ? Boise State’s Ty Axtman and Breanna Sande have been named the Western Athletic Conference men and women’s cross country Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Axtman, a senior from Elma, Wash. (Spokane CC), won the fourth annual Hampton Inn and Suites Fall Harrier Classic. He posted a time of 18:36.71 in the 6k event. He finished .28 ahead of teammate Forest Braden. The duo led the Broncos to a first-place finish, gathering 26 points.
Sande, a sophomore from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (Lake City), won the women’s four-kilometer race at the Hampton Inn and Suites Fall Harrier Classic. Sande finished in a time of 14:40.80, four seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.
Other men’s nominees included: Kinsey Dinnel, Louisiana Tech.
Other women’s nominees included: Tiffany Hall, San Jose State.
