LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Hatila Passos had a double-double as New Mexico State used second opportunities to cruise to a 84-66 win over Idaho in Western Athletic Conference play Wednesday night.

Passos finished with 17 points and added 16 rebounds for the Aggies (16-4, 6-1). Shaun Davis had 13 points, 3 assists and 4 rebounds in a victory that stretched the Aggies' home win streak to 12 this season.

Darin Nagle scored 13 and Keoni Watson scored 15 for the Vandals (3-16, 1-6).

New Mexico State shot only 40 percent in the first half but secured a comfortable lead by giving itself second opportunities at the basket and being opportunistic with Vandal turnovers. The Aggies turned 11 offensive rebounds into 18 points and converted 10 Idaho turnovers into 12 points in the first half.

New Mexico State finished with 27 second-chance points.

Idaho didn't shoot the ball well either. It wasn't until the 8:39 mark before the half that the Vandals finally reached double-digit points on a Michael Crowell 3-point shot. New Mexico State still had a 26-12 lead.

The Vandals shot 28 percent from the field in the first half and finished shooting 37 percent overall.

The Aggies led by as many as 23 points in the first half and were up 41-20 at halftime. The Vandals could only get within 14 points in the second half.
