Denver - Northern Arizona’s Rachael Foe has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week.
Foe, a freshman from Ada, Mich. (Forest Hills Central HS), recorded two individual wins as well as two relay wins, making her a winner in all four events in which she participated, as she helped NAU defeat San Diego (185-108) in a dual meet last weekend. In the first swimming event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay, Foe was the leadoff swimmer as NAU won with a time of 1:49.14, which was less than a second off the pool record. Foe later won both the 50-yard freestyle (with a season-best 24.51 seconds) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.20). In the final event of the day, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Foe helped NAU to yet another win in a time of 3:37.75, which was once again less than a second off the pool record.
