DENVER ? The Western Athletic Conference continues the 2007 Play Up Tour this Saturday in Ruston, Louisiana. The fifth stop heads to Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston where Boise State will battle the Bulldogs. In the tenth meeting of the schools, Louisiana Tech looks to defend their home turf in search of their second consecutive WAC win of the season and turn the series around after losing to the Broncos last year in Boise, 55-14.
After a successful Tour in 2006, the WAC has continued its promotion of Play Up, announcing its nine fall stops. The Play Up Tour heightens awareness of the WAC brand as well as reinforces the association between the schools and the WAC. New for this year, the Play Up Tour will also be present at a handful of selected volleyball and soccer games throughout the season.
On Saturday, fans can join the WAC Play Up Tour and support the Lady Techsters volleyball team as they take on Nevada at 2:00 p.m. at the Lambright Intramural Sports Center. Later that evening, before the Bulldogs football team takes on Boise State, supporters can stop by the WAC Play Up Tour tent near the Thomas Assembly Center steps to pick up a free WAC t-shirt or WAC rally towel. Fans can enter to win a helmet signed by Louisiana Tech head coach Derek Dooley. Fans can also register to win a trip to the 2007 New Mexico Bowl or the 2008 WAC Basketball Tournament in Las Cruces, N.M. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
