The WAC currently boasts the best records in the nation in both football and men's basketball. Earlier this year, Boise State completed the 2006 football season with a perfect 13-0 record, the only Division IA team to finish the year without a loss. On Thursday night, Nevada improved to 25-2 in men's basketball after beating Idaho, 84-68. The Wolf Pack's winning percentage (.926) is the best in the nation.
With last night's win, Nevada has now won at least 25 games in four straight seasons. The win also was the Wolf Pack's eighth in a row, their 18th in the last 19 contests and their 15th on the road in 16 tries. Only Wisconsin, with 26 victories, has won more games than Nevada, but the Badgers have lost three games for a winning percentage of .897.
In football, the Broncos capped their magical season by beating Oklahoma in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, 43-42, in overtime. Boise State enters the 2007 season with the nation's longest winning streak at 13 games.
