DENVER ? San Diego’s Joy Miller has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week.
Miller, a junior from Bainbridge Island, Wash. (Bainbridge HS), tallied two first-place finishes as well as a second-place mark at a dual meet with San Diego State last weekend. Miller won the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 58.44 seconds and finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with another season-best time of 2:07.34. Miller also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.54, season-best time) and swam in the second spot of the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.18).
Also nominated was Northern Arizona junior Natalie Hughes.
