DENVER ? Nevada’s Carolina Bailly has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-Mar. 4. This is the first honor for the sophomore this spring.
Bailly, from Leige, Belgium (Athene Royal Marguerite Bervoets), went 2-0 in singles and doubles as No. 75 Nevada defeated Pacific and San Francisco last week. Playing at the No. 2 singles position, Bailly beat San Francisco’s Emma Taylor in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 and then beat Pacific’s Jolanta Twarowska also in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Bailly is now 7-3 in dual match play and 12-6 overall this season. In doubles action, Bailly teamed up with freshman Laetitia Tan to win two matches.
