In the final men's quarterfinal match of the day the fourth-seeded Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors defeated the fifth-seeded Idaho Vandals, 4-1, to move onto the semfinal match against first-seeded Boise State at the Aggie Tennis Center, Saturday, at 1:00 p.m.
With the win, the Rainbow Warriors improved to 6-10, while Idaho ends its season at 13-13. Hawai'i earned the doubles point after wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, and then tallied three singles victories at the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Andreas Weber defeated Timothy Huynk, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3, while Jeff Fitch beat Hugh McDonald, 6-2, 6-4, at the No. 6 spot. Spence Mendoza clinched the match for the Rainbow Wahine with his victory over Paulo Mirando, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2, at the No. 5 position.
