The Western Athletic Conference is accepting applications for the position of Associate Director of Media Relations.  The Associate Director will serve as the primary media contact for women's basketball, baseball and other sports to be determined.  The Associate Director will be involved in all aspects of publicizing the WAC with specific duties to include writing and producing press releases and media guides for assigned sports; working with regional and national media; and compiling statistics and reporting results to the media.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of full-time work experience in a media relations or sports information office. Must have proven written and oral communications skills and experience with layout and design programs. Ability to write, edit and produce press releases and press guides. Knowledge and experience of Indesign, website management and StatCrew.  Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends.

The Western Athletic Conference is a nine-member conference which sponsors 19 intercollegiate Division I men’s and women’s sports.  The conference office is located in suburban Denver.
 
Salary: Annual salary commensurate with experience including health and retirement benefits.

WAC Director of Business and Operations

The Western Athletic Conference is accepting applications for the position of Director of Business and Operations.  This position will manage the conference office budget including accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and investments.  The Director will also be the primary contact for employee health and dental insurance, the courtesy vehicle programs and assist the media relations staff with weekly conference calls.  This position will also assist conference office staff members with developing and managing budgets for championships, marketing and media relations, travel and meetings. 

 

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years of full time work in a business office setting is required.  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with “Quick Books” is highly desired.  Familiarity with intercollegiate athletics and athletics business operations is helpful.  Familiarity with technology, specifically the ability to offer technical support to office staff members in the use of computers is desired.
