DENVER ? Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Karl Benson today announced the hiring of Jason Erickson as Associate Director of Media Relations.
Erickson will handle media relations duties for the WAC in women’s basketball, baseball, gymnastics and cross country. He will join the WAC staff on September 27 after four years at Idaho State University where he was the assistant director of media relations for women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, tennis and track & field. He has also worked for KCSG in Cedar City, Utah as a sports producer and has covered Southern Utah University athletics for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City and the University Journal in Cedar City.
He is a 2002 graduate of Southern Utah University where he earned a degree in communications. Erickson earned his master’s degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in athletic administration at Idaho State in 2006.
