LAS CRUCES, N.M.  ? New Mexico State beat Boise State 3-1 (13-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-17) at the Pan American Center Saturday.

 

As a team, the Aggies tallied 61 kills and a .226 percentage with 69 digs and 11 team blocks. The Broncos recorded 31 kills for a .092 percentage, tallied 49 digs, four aces and 10 team blocks.

 

New Mexico State was led by Lindsey Yon, who recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 15 digs. Krista Altermatt recorded 13 kills while setters Alyssa Gintant and Jennah Devries shared duties, registering 23 and 19 assists, respectively. Krystal Torres led the team’s defense with 22 digs, while Erin Birmingham and Kelli Goodan each added six blocks on the day.

 

Sadie Maughan led the Broncos, notching a team high of nine kills. Lauren Hamm led the backcourt efforts with 11 digs.

 

 

RUSTON, La. ? Idaho rebounded from its first loss in six matches with a 3-1 victory (25-20, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16) at Louisiana Tech Saturday.

 

Haley Larsen finished with 25 kills and 17 digs to lead the Vandals. Kelsey Yonker posted a season-high 27 digs, while Kelsey James tallied a double-double with 46 assists and 12 digs.

 

Sophomore Taylor Fritz led the Techsters with nine kills, while Bianca Bin totaled 34 assists. Three Techsters finished with double-digit digs, led by senior Debora Bolonhini with 19. Kaylon Alexander added 12, while Fritz finished with 11.

 

 

RENO, Nev. ? No. 9 Hawai`i (15-3, 8-1) swept through Nevada (9-19, 4-5) 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 at the Virginia Street Gym Saturday.

 

The Rainbow Wahine hit .276 on the match, compared to the .144 of the Wolf Pack. Hawai?i also bettered Nevada in kills (44-31), digs (35-28), assists (40-27) and blocks (9.5-5.5).

 

Aneli Cubi-Otineru hit .385 with 13 kills and eight digs to lead the Rainbow Wahine. Amber Kaufman added nine kills and two blocks while hitting .615, with Kanani Herring added nine kills, seven digs and two blocks.

 

Erin Garvey paced the Wolf Pack with eight kills, while Allison Hernandez had 10 digs.

 

 

FRESNO, Calif. ? Utah State defeated Fresno State in five sets (25-14, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-13) Saturday. The Aggies improve to 7-13 on the season and 5-4 in the WAC with the win, while Fresno State falls to 5-13 overall and 2-7 in league play with the loss.

 

Utah State finished the match with a .211 hitting percentage and Fresno State hit .140. USU also had 11 more digs (71-60) and one more service error (8-7) in the match, while both teams had six service aces.

 

Kris Hymas recorded her second double-double of the season as she notched career-highs with 15 kills and 15 digs. Melissa Osterloh added 18 kills and 13 digs for Utah State as she posted her third double-double of the season, and Christine Morrill added a match-high 23 digs as she posted her 14th double-figure dig match of the season.

 

Brianna Clark had a match-high 22 kills to lead Fresno State, while Baylee Platt added 15 kills and 11 digs.

 

 

SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Brianna Amian recorded her second double-double of the season and had a career-high six service aces as San Jose State defeated Cal State Bakersfield, 25-23, 24-26, 25-14, 25-22, Saturday.

 

Amian led the team with 14 kills and 10 digs. Her six services are the highest number recorded in a match by a Spartan player this season. 

 

Kelly Crow added 13 kills and nine digs. Colleen Burke led the team in blocking as she tied her season-high with six blocks. She is eighth all-time at San Jose State in block assists with 259 and ninth in total blocks with 278.  Burke added seven kills and tied her career-best with nine digs.

 

Kylie Miraldi added six kills on 11 attempts and no hitting errors with a .545 hitting percentage.  She added four blocks and a dig. Emily Burke had her third double-double of the year with 41 assists and 10 digs.
