swept past Boise State (25-22, 25-16, 25-7) in front of a
record crowd of 1,842 fans Saturday.
The
seven points allowed in set three were the lowest amount for an Idaho opponent since
rally scoring began in 2001.
Idaho held Boise State
to a -.134 hitting percentage for the match. The Vandals hit .181, including
.350 in set three with just two errors. Idaho’s
defense held an 11.0-5.0 advantage in blocks and led 56-38 in digs.
Sarah
Conwell had a career high .417 hitting percentage and tallied 12 kills, while
Haley Larsen added 12 kills and 10 digs. Kelsey Yonker finished with 15 digs
and Kelsey James totaled 21 assists.
Alisha
King paced the Broncos with six kills, while Lauren Hamm had 10 digs.
RENO, Nev.
? Nevada defeated
Utah State in four sets (19-25, 25-19, 23-25,
23-25) Saturday. Nevada
improves to 11-10 on the season and 6-5 in the WAC with the win, while USU
falls to 6-5 in league play and 8-14 overall with the loss.
Lindsay Baldwin had 20 kills to lead Nevada, while Kylie Harrington added 16
kills.
Melissa Osterloh led Utah State
with 15 kills and nine digs, while Emily Kortsen added 10 kills. Christine
Morrill had 10 digs and a career-high four service aces.
Nevada the match by hitting .288, while Utah State
hit .244. The Wolf Pack also had 12 more digs (53-41) and one more team block
(8-7) in the match, while USU had one more service ace (7-6).
RUSTON, La. ? New Mexico State
added swept Louisiana Tech (25-13, 25-15, 25-15) in the Thomas Assembly
Center Saturday. The
Aggies improve to 15-7 overall and 9-1 in the WAC. The Techsters fall to 3-17
and 0-10.
The
Aggies tallied seven service aces on the evening while marking eight team
blocks.
Lindsey
Yon led the way with a match-high 16 kills with no errors. Her .696 hitting
percentage in the match is the highest of any WAC player this season. Amber
Simpson hit .636 with eight kills.
KC
Clayton led all Tech scorers with eight kills. Bianca Bin totaled 20 assists,
while Debora Bolonhini finished the night with 12 digs.
