LOGAN, Utah - Melissa Osterloh had a season-high 29 kills, including 17 in the final two sets, to lead Utah State to a come-from-behind five-set win (23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 15-11) over Idaho Thursday night.

 

Utah State, which is now 6-1 on the season in five-set matches, improves to 7-5 in the Western Athletic Conference and 9-14 on the season with the victory. Idaho falls to 14-8 overall and 7-4 in league play with the loss.

 

Idaho out-hit Utah State .206 to .179. UI also had 10 more digs (75-65) and 6.5 more team blocks (17.5-11), while USU had five more service aces (6-1).

 

Osterloh hit .317 on the match and also had four service aces and 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Christine Morrill added 24 digs for USU, while Emily Kortsen notched a career-high 13 kills.

 

Haley Larsen had 29 kills and 13 digs to lead Idaho, while Sarah Loney added 10 kills, 12 digs and eight blocks.

 

 

SAN JOSE, Calif ? Three Spartans recorded double-doubles and San Jose State hit .305 in a 25-16, 25-14, 25-23 sweep of Fresno State Thursday at Spartan Gym.

 

The Spartans improved to 10-13 overall and 5-6 in the WAC, while Fresno State fell to 5-15 and 2-9 in the WAC. 

 

Kelly Crow had her seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 15 kills and 15 digs.  Brianna Amian had her third double-double of the year with 12 kills and a career-best 19 digs.  Amian also hit .423 for the match. Brittany Collet had 37 assists and 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. 

 

Baylee Platt and Lacey Gera led the Bulldogs with eight kills apiece. Allanah Munson added 21 assists, while Meghan Moss finished with 19 digs.

 

 

LAS CRUCES, N.M.  ? New Mexico State won its eighth straight match and captured its second consecutive sweep over the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters with a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-11, 25-18) Thursday night at the Pan American Center.

 

The Aggies as a team hit .284 Thursday night and held the Lady Techsters to a .000 hitting percentage. Louisiana Tech out-blocked  NMSU, 10-3.

 

Lindsey Yon finished with a match-high 13 kills on .500 hitting percentage. Jennah Devries led NMSU with 22 assists, while Krystal Torres and Krista Altermatt finished 18 and 16 digs, respectively.

 

Kaycie Artim led the Techsters with five kills and eight digs. Bianca Bin totaled 10 assists and 11 digs on the night.
