BOISE, Idaho ? No. 7 Hawai`i (20-3, 13-1 WAC) swept through Boise State (7-17, 3-10) 25-15, 25-13, 25-17 at Bronco Gym Thursday.

 

Hawai?i bettered the Broncos in every statistical category ? kills (47-18), hitting percentage (.352-.056), assists (45-16), service aces (7-4), digs (48-25) and blocks (5-4).

 

Jamie Houston finished with 11 kills on .556 hitting, posting her fourth-straight match hitting at least .500 with double-digit kills. Kanani Danielson added nine kills and a match-high 18 digs. Dani Mafua set Hawai`i to a .352 hitting percentage, posting 38 assists and two blocks, while Tara Hittle posted 11 digs in just two sets.

 

Sadie Maughan and Alisha King led Boise State with five kills each.

 

 

RENO, Nev. ? New Mexico State rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat Nevada in five sets (19-25, 17-25, 25-13, 25-9, 15-10) Thursday. With the win, the Aggies improve to 18-7 overall and 12-1 in the WAC. The Wolf Pack fall to 11-2 on the year and 6-7 in conference play.

 

NMSU out-hit Nevada .156 to .037 and had 19 more kills (57-38) on the match.

 

Lindsay Yon, Krista Altermatt, Amber Simpson and Kelli Goodan tallied 10 kills apiece for the Aggies. Yon also had 12 digs for a double-double, while simpson added eight blocks. Krystal Toress posted 20 digs.

 

Allison Hernandez had 12 kills to pace Nevada. Setter Sonnie Sei had 29 assists and 20 digs.

 

 

LOGAN, Utah ? Melissa Osterloh recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and a season-high-tying 13 digs to lead Utah State to a four-set win (25-15, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22) over San Jose State Thursday night.

 

Utah State finished the match by hitting .280, while San Jose State hit .090. USU also had 10 more team blocks (14-4), while SJSU had four more digs, (58-54), one more service ace (4-3) and eight fewer service errors (11-3).

 

Utah State, which has won four of its last six matches, improves to 8-6 in the WAC and 10-15 on the season with the win, while San Jose States falls to 5-8 in league play and 10-15 on the season with the loss.

 

Emily Kortsen added 12 kills and a career-high seven block assists for the Aggies, while Kris Hymas had 12 kills to go along with a career-high three service aces.

 

Kelly Crow had 13 kills and 10 digs to pace San Jose State, while Kristal Tsukano had seven kills and 14 digs.

 

 

MOSCOW, Idaho ?Idaho earned a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-13, 25-14) of Louisiana Tech Thursday night. With the victory, Idaho remains in third place in the WAC with a 16-8, 9-4 record. Louisiana Tech falls to 4-20, 0-13 on the season with its 24th-consecutive WAC loss.

 

As a team, the Vandals hit .290 and held the Lady Techsters to just .028. They also held a 57-40 advantage in digs and led in blocking 9.5-3.0.

 

Haley Larsen recorded 11 kills to earn her 82nd career double-digit kills match and a new Idaho record. She bested the previous record of 81 set by Jessica Moore (1995-98).

 

Sarah Conwell finished with nine kills and Sarah Loney had eight while Kelsey Taylor notched a .750 hitting percentage with seven kills. Kelsey James dished out 33 assists and added 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season, and Kelsey Yonker totaled 18 digs.

 

Kara Jones led the Techsters with nine kills on the night with a .231 attacking percentage. Senior Debora Bolonhii added 10 digs, while sophomore setter Bianca Bin totaled 17 assists.
