DENVER ? Boise State’s Simon Wardhaugh has been named Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 1-7.
Wardhaugh, a senior thrower from Bracken Ridge, Australia (University of Queensland), won the 35-pound weight throw at the Jackson Open in Boise, Idaho with a throw of 73-00.0 (22.25 meters). The mark set a new Boise State record previously held by Mattias Jons (72-4.50). The throw also stands as an automatic qualifying mark to the NCAA National Indoor Championships.
