PLAYER OF THE WEEK ?  Nevada senior guard Marcelus Kemp has been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week for Feb. 11-17. This is the second WAC Player of the Week honor for the senior this season.

Kemp, a senior from Seattle, Wash. (Garfield HS), averaged 29.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in Nevada’s games against Utah State, Boise State and Idaho last week. He had just two turnovers all week. The senior shot 49.0 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from three-point range and 91.4 percent from the free throw line last week. Kemp scored a career-high 35 points on 9-of-17 shooting (4-of-8 from three-point land) in Nevada’s win over Utah State. The 35 points was the most scored in a single game this season.  He also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out a season-high six assists with no turnovers against Utah State.

He turned in 22 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the loss at Boise State, adding his second 30-point effort of the season in Saturday’s win at Idaho, scoring 32 points on 8-of-14 shooting (.571 percent). The guard made 15-of-16 free throw attempts in the victory over the Vandals.

The other nominations were senior forward Reggie Larry, Boise State; senior guard Riley Luettgerodt, Hawai?i and senior center Hatila Passos, New Mexico State.

GRAHAM BECOMES JUST THIRD BRONCO COACH TO WIN 100 GAMES AT BOISE STATE ? Bobby Dye (1983-95) is the school’s all-time leader with 213 wins, while Rod Jensen (1995-2002) is second with 109 wins. His career record of 102-79 gives him a career winning percentage of .563, which is also the third best of any coach in school history behind Dye’s .616 winning percentage and Murray Satterfield’s (1968-73) .567 winning percentage.

Morrill passed E. Lowell Romney’s (1920-41) 225 career wins, while Carroll passed Greg Grant’s (1983-86) 2,127 career points.
