DENVER ? Utah State senior center Jenny Gross has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her play during the week of Feb. 18-Feb. 24.
Gross, from Caldwell, Idaho (Vallivue HS), led Utah State to a 2-0 record last week, helping the Aggies to a 54-48 win over Nevada and a 44-40 victory against WAC leader Fresno State. Gross dropped in 13 points against Nevada and was just two points shy of a career high with 17 points against Fresno State.
On the week, Gross averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while adding three assists and three blocks. She also hit 12-of-21 (.571) shots from the field and connected on 6-of-8 (.750) free throws.
