Hawai?i Remains Leader After Second Round of WAC Women's Golf Championship

FRESNO, CA -- The University of Hawai?i has a seven-stroke lead over host Fresno State after the second round of the 18th annual Western Athletic Conference women's golf championship. The Rainbow Wahine followed up yesterday's 301 with a 302 on Tuesday at the 6,125-yard, par-72 Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno, Calif.

Fresno State cut Hawai?i's lead by one after a 301 today, the best score of the round. New Mexico State improved 10 strokes with a 302 to move into third place with a two-day total of 614. Boise State had the best improvement of the day with a 305 following yesterday's 324.

Hawai?i's Corie Hou (145) remains the individual leader after a one-over 73 today and leads the tournament by two strokes over New Mexico State's Suteera Chanachai (147) who was tied for the lead with Hou entering today's round. Chanachai is currently tied for second with Fresno State's Laura Luethke who had birdies on the final two holes of the day.

San Jose State (309-307--616) dropped to fourth place while Idaho (312-308--620) is fifth. Boise State (324-305--629) moved up to sixth place and Nevada (316-314--630) dropped to seventh.

The three-day tournament concludes on Wednesday with final-round tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
