Nevada Wolf Pack (25-18, 12-8 WAC)
Nevada turned 14 double plays in the four game series vs. Fresno State this past week, helping the Pack to three wins over the Bulldogs ... Catcher Tyson Jaquez’ 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th in game two vs. Fresno State won the game 4-1 and catcher Travis Simas’ three-run homer in the bottom of the 8th in game four won the game 12-11 ... Nevada became the first team to win a WAC series from FS this season and sweep them in a doubleheader ... Jason Sadoian collected hits in seven consecutive at bats vs. Fresno State going 3-for-3 in game three and began game four going 4-for-4 before hitting a line drive up the middle that was caught by the second baseman to end the streak.
NMSU Aggies (22-25, 9-11 WAC)
New Mexico State went 4-2 last week, dropping a pair of non-conference games to Texas Tech before sweeping a four-game series at Sacramento State ... Joe Leghorn led the Aggies at the plate last week, hitting .500 with nine hits, six runs, two home runs, three walks, and four RBI ... Franky Busani led the Aggies with 11 RBI over the six games ... New Mexico State hit 14 home runs over the six games last week ... The team tallied 45 RBI and 49 hits in the six games ... San Jose State is in non-conference action for a second straight week, hosting San Francisco State before a two-game home-and-home set with third-ranked Stanford ... the Spartans, winners of eight of their last 10, took the series finale at Washington State on Sunday, , 6-2 ... the Spartans snapped an eight-game losing skid to the area rival Cardinal with an 11-8 victory at Sunken Diamond a year ago ... Stanford will represent the Spartans’ first ranked opponent in nearly two years, since a 3-2 loss at then-No. 21 Fresno State at the 2006 WAC Tournament to end that campaign ... Danny Stienstra is third in the WAC in average, batting at a .383 clip ... San Jose State continues to lead the WAC in team ERA at 4.49.
