BOISE, IDAHO - Day one of the four-day championships started with the men’s decathlon  and the women's heptathlon. With four of the seven heptathlon events complete, Hawai'i senior and two-time defending WAC champion, Annett Wichmann is in the lead with 3,161 points. Idaho has control of second, third and fourth places, with sophomore Darcy Collins in second with 3,019 points, senior Molly Burt in third with 2,943 points and sophomore Lindsay Goodman in fourth with 2,853 points. The heptathlon’s three remaining events, the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run, will take place tomorrow, May 15, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

On the men's side, with five of ten decathlon events complete, Utah State junior and defending WAC champion, John Strang is in the lead with 3,867 points. Fresno State holds the second and third positions, with freshman Matt Bushnell in second with 3,500 points and freshman David Deal in third with 3,415 points. 

Tomorrow’s events begin at 1:00 p.m. with the sixth event of the men’s decathlon, the 110-meter hurdles, and the fifth event of the women's heptatlon, the long jump, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Single-Session tickets must be purchased for events on Wednesday and Thursday and are $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens, students and youth.
