DENVER ? Louisiana Tech’s Kinsey Dinnel and New Mexico State’s Ingrid Flores have been named the Western Athletic Conference men and women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 8-14.
Dinnel, a senior from Loranger, La. (St. Thomas Aquinas HS), was the top finisher at the Mook 4 Invitational in Ruston this past week. Dinnel finished the four-mile race with a time of 20:30, helping the Bulldogs to a triple dual sweep.
Flores, a junior from El Paso, Texas (Jefferson HS), placed second at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational in Santa Teresa, N.M. Flores finished the 4700-meter course with a time of 16:59.91. It marks the second week in a row that Flores has led the Aggies across the finish line.
Other Men’s Nominees: New Mexico State’s Michael Hart placed eighth at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational with a 6800-meter time of 22:16.14.
Other Women’s Nominees: Nevada’s Christa Avena finished fifth with a 4K time of 17:54 at the Sacramento State Hornet Jamboree.
