Utah State 79, Boise State 65
LOGAN, Utah (AP)-- Tai Wesley scored a season-high 26 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to lead Utah State past Boise State 79-65 Saturday night.
Jared Quayle also scored 18 and Gary Wilkinson added 10 for the Aggies (17-1, 5-0 Western Athletic Conference). The Broncos (12-5, 3-2 WAC) were led by Ike Okoye with 15. Paul Noonan added 14 and Jamar Greene 10.
Trailing by 10 at halftime, Boise State went on a 11-4 run to start the second half, but could never catch the Aggies, who shot 48 percent from the field in the half to Boise State's 33 percent.
Utah State jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first half, before Boise State went on a 14-5 run of their won, eventually taking the lead 24-22 on a 3-pointer by Anthony Thomas. Utah State, however, led 43-33 at halftime thanks in part to a half-court shot by Wesley as the horn sounded.
Nevada 65, Fresno State 60
RENO, Nev. (AP)-- Luke Babbitt scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Nevada Wolf Pack past the Fresno State Bulldogs, 65-60, on Saturday night.
Nevada (11-7, 4-1) has now won four consecutive Western Athletic Conference games. Nevada led by as much as 15, 46-31, with 13 minutes to play.
Paul George scored 16 points and Sylvester Seay added 13 as Fresno State (7-11, 0-4) lost for the fourth consecutive game.
A layup by Joey Shaw at the buzzer gave Nevada a 31-27 halftime lead. Nevada led by as much as eight, 30-22, in the opening half after Malik Cooke scored inside with just under two minutes to play.
Nevada outscored Fresno State 15-1 at the free throw line in the first half.
The Wolf Pack went on an 8-0 run to take a 21-14 lead with 6:34 to play in the first half. A dunk by Dario Hunt off a feed from Armon Johnson and left-handed jumper in the lane by Babbitt keyed the run.
A steal and a layup by Bryce Cartwright gave Fresno State its last lead of the first half at 14-13 with 9:45 to play.
Seay drained a 3-pointer to cut Nevada's lead to 30-27 with a minute to play in the first half. Seay, who finished with 11 first-half points, also hit a 3-pointer five minutes into the game to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 8-6.
Louisiana Tech 74, Idaho 63
RUSTON, La. (AP)-- Kyle Gibson scored 21 points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 74-63 victory over Idaho on Saturday, ending a three-game losing streak.
The Bulldogs (8-10, 2-3 Western Athletic Conference) took a 38-30 lead into halftime on 16-of-27 shooting (59.3 percent) and led by 14 points with 17:27 left.
The Vandals (8-10, 2-3) pulled within seven at 62-55 with 3:03 left on a 3-pointer by Mac Hopson, but Louisiana Tech made 10 of 12 free throws the rest of the game to seal the win.
The Bulldogs scored 38 points in the paint compared to 18 for the Vandals.
Gibson was 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Magnum Rolle added 19 points for Louisiana Tech and Jamel Guyton had 12.
Hopson scored 25 points to lead the Vandals, while Marvin Jefferson had 10.
Since Idaho joined the conference in the 2005-06 season, the Bulldogs have a 6-1 series lead over the Vandals.
San Jose State 73, Hawai?i 61
HONOLULU (AP)-- Justin Graham scored 19 points to help San Jose State rally past Hawaii, 73-61, in a Western Athletic Conference game Saturday night.
Robert Owens and Tim Pierce scored 13 points each and Mac Peterson had 10 for the Spartans (8-8, 2-3 WAC) in the win.
Roderick Flemings scored 18 points, Lasha Parghalava and Bill Amis scored 14 each and Kareem Nitoto added 10 for the Rainbow Warriors (9-8, 1-4 WAC).
Down 39-34 in the second half, the Spartans used a 19-3 run to take over the game. Graham?s free throw on an intentional foul call gave San Jose State its first lead of the game at 40-39 with 10:30 left.
After Hawaii?s Parghalava made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 42, the Spartans scored 11 straight points to lead 53-42 after Graham made two free throws with 7:58 left.
The Rainbow Warriors cut the deficit to 53-47 after Amis? two free throws with 6:19 left, but the Spartans went on a 9-1 run to lead 62-48 with 3:06 remaining.
Hawaii led 29-25 at halftime.
