Nevada 66, San Jose State 52
SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Nevada won its fifth straight game and remained undefeated in WAC play with a 66-52 win at San Jose State Sunday afternoon.
With
the win Nevada improves to 11-7 overall and 5-0 in WAC play, while San
Jose State falls to 2-17 overall and 1-5 in WAC play. Nevada's 5-0 WAC
record matches the best conference start in program history (1997-98,
Big West).
The Wolf Pack shot 45 percent from the field on the
game, compared to the 33 percent of the Spartans. Nevada also
out-rebounded SJSU 40-32.
Three players scored in double
figures for Nevada, led by Dellena Criner with 12 points. Shavon Moore
and Brandi Jones added 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
Chasity Shavers led the Spartans with 16 points.
Idaho 70, New Mexico State 49

Olorunnife tied an Idaho arena record with 19 rebounds and Idaho head
coach Jon Newlee earned his 100th career win Sunday afternoon as the
Vandals defeated New Mexico State 70-49 at the Cowan Spectrum.
The
Vandals improve to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the WAC, which gives the
team its best-ever start in the league. New Mexico State slips to 6-14
overall and 2-4 in the WAC.
NMSU managed just 27 shooting from
the floor and 22 percent from beyond the arc. Idaho, on the other hand,
hit 26-of-61 shots (42 percent) from the field and 32 percent from
downtown (6-of-19).
Olorunnife finished with a career-high 19
rebounds and a career-high four blocks, to go along with 17 points. The
game marked her third-straight double-double, as well as the WAC’s best
individual rebounding effort of the season. The rebound total also ties
a 20-year-old arena record.
Shaena Kuehu fell just one rebound
short of her second career double-double, finishing with 13 points and
nine rebounds. Derisa Taleni and Rachele Kloke added 16 and 11 points,
respectively.
Tabytha Wampler led the Aggies with 10 points, while Erica Sanchez pulled down 11 boards.
Boise State 54, Louisiana Tech 44
BOISE, Idaho ? Boise State used a 16-3 run midway through the second half to break open a close game and claim a 10-point 52-42 victory over Louisiana Tech Sunday afternoon.
The victory improves Boise State to 11-9 overall and into a three-way tie with Fresno State and Idaho for second place in the league standings at 4-2. The win also extends the Broncos' conference home win streak to 14 straight. The loss drops Louisiana Tech to 10-10 on the year and 3-3 in conference play.
Boise State shot 33 percent (18-of-54) from the field, 17 percent (2-of-12) from beyond the arc and 64 percent (14-of-22) from the free throw line. Louisiana Tech finished at 24 percent (17-of-70) from the court, 10 percent (2-of-21) from long range and 67 percent (6-of-9) from the foul line. The Broncos out-rebounded the Techsters 49-47.
Janie Bos led the Broncos with 13 points and six rebounds, while Marisa Stotler added 12 points and eight boards.
Louisiana Tech was led by Adrienne Johnson with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds. Shanavia Dowdell added 10 points and four rebounds, while Tiawana Pringle collected a team-best nine rebounds to go with seven points, four assists and two steals.
Utah State 52, Hawai?i 43
HONOLULU, Hawai?i ? In a game that featured five lead changes in the second half, Utah State defeated Hawai?i 52-43 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Utah State improves to 10-10 overall and 4-3 in conference action, while UH falls to 3-16 overall and 0-6 in WAC play.
Neither team shot particularly well, as Utah State connected on 33 percent from the field, compared to the 25 percent of Hawai?i. UH won the battle of the boards, 41-34.
Ana Pares led all players with 23 points. Danyelle Snelgro added 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Lydia Whitehead was just shy of a double-double, finishing with nine points and nine rebounds.
The Rainbow Wahine were led by Megan Tinnin, who scored 14 points and added six rebounds. Rebecca Dew scored a career-high 11 points and Tara Hittle had six points and 12 rebounds.
