Nevada 79, New Mexico State 71 (OT)
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP)-- Armon Johnson scored six of his 20 points in overtime and Luke Babbitt added four of his 22 in the extra period as Nevada beat New Mexico State 79-71 Thursday night.
The Wolf Pack (8-7, 1-1 Western Athletic Conference) rallied to force overtime in the final 15 seconds.
Babbitt made one free throw and his missed second foul shot was rebounded by teammate Lyndale Burleson and Malik Cook's tip-in with 12 seconds left tied the score at 67.
Babbitt's two free throws with 2:18 remainig in overtime put Nevada ahead to stay at 71-69.
Johnson hit a jumper with 1:44 left and he made two foul shots with 37 seconds showing for a 75-69 lead.
Two free throws apiece by Babbitt and Johnson capped the Wolf Pack's 10-0 run for a 79-69 bulge with 13 seconds left.
Babbitt's 22 points tied his career high and he added 12 rebounds. Joe Shaw finished with 13 points for Nevada.
New Mexico State (8-8, 2-1) was led by Troy Gillenwater's career-high 22 points. Jonathan Gibson had 18 points for the Aggies.
Utah State 50, Louisiana Tech 37
RUSTON, La. (AP)-- Gary Wilkinson scored 17 points to lead Utah State to a 50-37 victory over Louisiana Tech on Thursday night.
With the game tied at 37 with 5:29 to go, Utah State went on a 13-0 run to close out the victory.
The Aggies (14-1, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference) scored their lowest point total of the season in winning their ninth straight game. The point total was also a season low for the Bulldogs (7-9, 1-2), who were averaging 73.8 points per game at home -- double their score.
Louisiana Tech led 29-20 with 5:55 left in the first half, but only 19-18 at halftime. After the Bulldogs opened the second half with a 5-0 run, the Aggies tied the score at 24.
Louisiana Tech hit only 6 of 21 shots in the second half (28.6 percent).
Tyler Newbold added 10 points for the Aggies.
Kyle Gibson led the Bulldogs with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Boise State 84, San Jose State 64
BOISE, Idaho (AP)-- Anthony Thomas scored a game-high 19 points Thursday night to lead Boise State to an 84-64 victory over San Jose State.
Thomas, a junior point guard, had six assists and hit three consecutive 3-pointers in the second half.
Mark Sanchez added 14 points and Ike Okoye contributed 12 points and a team-high six rebounds in the victory. Kurt Cunningham contributed 10 points for the Broncos (11-3, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference).
Tim Pierce led San Jose State (6-7, 0-3) with 14 points and Justin Graham had 12 points and four assists.
The Broncos extended their winning streak to five games and improved to 18-1 against San Jose State in WAC play.
Boise State shot 54 percent while San Jose State made 36.2 percent of its shots.
The Broncos had seven steals.
Idaho 67, Hawai?i 47
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP)-- Kashif Watson scored 19 points and Mac Hopson added 14 Thursday night as Idaho defeated Hawai?i 67-47.
Idaho (8-8, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference) broke the game open midway through the second half with a 12-0 run that put the Vandals up 58-38 with 7:19 left in the game.
Hawai?i (9-6, 1-2) was led by Roderick Flemings, who scored 16 points. Lasha Parghalava added 12.
Idaho's Marvin Jefferson was called for his fourth foul with 13:22 left when he hit Paul Campbell down low.
Jefferson said something and was nailed with a technical, and had to sit out the remainder of the half with his fifth foul.
Parghalava hit both the technical free throws and Campbell hit both of his, pulling Hawaii within 44-36.
Idaho out-rebounded Hawai?i 37-26 with Brandon Wiley leading the way with seven.
Idaho led 30-24 at halftime.
