No. 4 Hawai’i swept San Jose State 25-12, 25-11, 25-17 Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center, notching win No. 999 in head coach Dave Shoji’s career.
Shoji moves one-win closer to reaching the 1,000th win milestone, and will have a chance to earn the victory Wednesday at the Stan Sheriff Center against Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m.
UH improves to 15-2 on the season and 6-0 in WAC play. San Jose State falls to 0-14 overall and 0-4 in the WAC. The Rainbow Wahine have also won 11 straight matches, with 10 of those matches being sweeps.
Kanani Danielson had a match-high 11 kills and hit .450. She also tied a career-high with five blocks. Brittany Hewitt recorded eight kills and six blocks in just two sets.
Caitlin Andrade paced the Spartans with a double-double of 12 assists and 10 digs.
