DENVER - Louisiana Tech and Fresno State both received votes in the Associated Press women's basketball preseason poll, released Friday.

The Lady Techsters, which shared the WAC regular-season title with Fresno State last year, received 11 points in the poll. Louisiana Tech returns reigning WAC Player of the Year Shanavia Dowdell and first-team all-WAC honoree Adrienne Johnson, the top two scorers in the WAC a year ago. The Techsters were selected by the media to claim the WAC title this season.

Fresno State, which won both the WAC regular-season and tournament titles, earned three points in the poll. The Bulldogs return all five starters from last year's team that led the nation in three-point field goals per game, including WAC Tournament MVP Jaleesa Ross. Fresno State was picked by the WAC coaches to win the conference title this season.
