DENVER – Nevada junior outside hitter Kylie Harrington has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 9-15. This is the first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor for Harrington.

The Honolulu native tallied 54 kills, 22 digs, three assists and two service aces as Nevada went 2-1 in WAC matches last week to clinch a spot in the upcoming WAC Tournament. Harrington averaged 4.91 kills on .283 hitting, 5.14 points and 2.00 digs and led the Pack in kills in all three matches. In the first match of the week at Fresno State, she established career highs with 25 kills and 27 points and hit .298 as the Pack won 3-1. In Thursday’s 3-1 loss to New Mexico State, Harrington totaled a team-high 11 kills. In the final match of the week, she had a match-high 18 kills and hit a career-best .571 as Nevada swept Louisiana Tech 3-0.

Other nominees included: Breann Nesselhuf of Boise State averaged 10.29 assists, 2.43 digs and 0.57 blocks as the Broncos went 1-1 on the week … Fresno State’s Marissa Brand posted career highs in kills (12), digs (nine) and block assists (seven) in three matches last week … Dani Mafua of Hawai’i averaged 11.17 assists, 1.00 kills on .500 hitting, 2.00 digs,  1.33 blocks and 0.33 service aces per set … Idaho’s Sarah Conwell averaged 4.33 kills and 4.17 digs as the Vandals went 1-1 on the week … Nataliya Panova of Louisiana Tech averaged 2.83 kills and 2.67 digs per set … New Mexico State’s Whitney Woods averaged 4.29 kills and 1.29 blocks digs per set as the Aggies went 2-0 on the week.
