Boise State 75, North Dakota 60
MISSOULA, Mont. -- Paul Noonan sank six 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead Boise State to a 75-60 victory over North Dakota on the final day of the Grizzly Tournament Sunday.
Daequon Montreal added 11 points off the bench and anchored an aggressive trapping defense that forced 14 North Dakota turnovers in the final 20 minutes. Tied 32-32 at the half, the Broncos' suffocating backcourt pressure and running game helped them open up a 60-45 lead with 9 minutes 50 seconds remaining.
The Fighting Sioux used a 9-0 spurt to make it 60-54 with 5:40 left before another three from Noonan stopped the run and Boise State was soon ahead by double figures again.
Anthony Thomas added eight points and eight assists for the Broncos (2-1), who were coming off a 95-82 loss to host Montana Saturday night.
Travis Mertens led North Dakota (0-3) with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Texas Southern 72, Idaho 65
HOUSTON -- Whitworth Treasure scored 21 points and Texas Southern rallied in the second half to beat Idaho 72-65 Sunday night.
Treasure scored 14 of his points in the final 20 minutes when the Tigers (1-1) outscored the Vandals 42-33.
Mac Hopson led Idaho (1-1) with 14 points, and Kashif Watson added 13.
Justin Ray had 14 points, Travele Jones finished with 11 and DeAndre Hall 10 for Texas Southern, which took advantage of 16 Idaho turnovers. The Tigers committed only eight turnovers.
After trailing 32-30 at halftime, Texas Southern took control in the second half and led by as many as 10 points.
Hawai‘i 73, McNeese State 65
HONOLULU (AP) -Dwain Williams scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to lift Hawaii to a 73-65 win over McNeese State on Sunday night in the Rainbow Classic.
Williams shot 7 of 16 from the field and made 4 of 12 3-pointers.
Hawaii (2-0) shot 46.8 percent (22 of 47) for the game and 73.3 percent (22 of 30) from the free-throw line. McNeese State (0-2) did not attempt a free throw.
The Rainbow Warriors led 37-30 at the break after shooting 54 percent in the first half. The Cowboys rallied to within 66-65 with 2:34 to play, but Hawaii's Roderick Flemings made back-to-back baskets to give his team a five-point lead with 1:24 left.
Flemings finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jeremy Lay had 11 points and Petras Balocka added 10 for Hawaii.
Diego Kapelan led McNeese State with 14 points.
