DENVER - Northern Arizona's Fiona Connell and Nevada's Aniesa Debaji were named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Connell, a freshman from Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia (Hill Sports), made her Lumberjack debut last week and won all three individual events she competed in.  At a double-dual meet against New Mexico State and Northern Colorado in Las Cruces, N.M., Connell won the 100-yard backstroke (56.84), 200 back (2:05.82) and 200 individual medley (2:09.36), while also leading off the victorious 200 medley relay (1:47.45).  Her time of 56.84 in the 100 back is the fastest in the WAC this year, while her 200 back time is the third fastest.

Debaji, a sophomore from Edmonton, Alberta (St. Francis Xavier HS), won both diving events in Nevada's 184.5-110.5 dual meet victory over Fresno State on Friday.  Debaji scored 274.80 points on the 1-meter board and 313.58 points to capture top honors on the 3-meter.

Other swimmers nominated: Dani Yoho, Fresno State; Marichi Gandionco, Nevada; and Kelly Conrad, New Mexico State.

Other divers nominated: Stacey Luke, Fresno State; and Taryn Harris, Northern Arizona.
