Fresno State 63, Nevada 60
RENO, Nev. ? Fresno State withstood a Nevada rally to defeat the first-place Wolf Pack 63-60 Friday night in front of a season-high crowd of 2,661 at the Lawlor Events Center. The win ended Nevada's seven game-winning streak and dropped its record to 13-8 and 7-1 in WAC play, while the Bulldogs improved to 16-6 and 7-2 in conference.
With 16 seconds left in the game, the Bulldogs led 63-60 after two Hayley Munro free throws. Nevada got the ball to half court and called a timeout with under 10 seconds to play. The ball was in Johnna Ward's hands after the timeout. She was able to get the ball to Nevada sharp shooter Dellena Criner, but Criner was unable to get a shot off in time as Arnold and Ross caught her in a double team.
Fresno State shot 45 percent from the field, while Nevada shot 38 percent from the field on 23-of-60 shooting and out-rebounded Fresno State 39-32. Friday was the first time the `Dogs were out-rebounded in a game and won.
The Bulldogs had four players in double-figures, led by Marnique Arnold's 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Jaleesa Ross had 15 points while Joh-Teena Filipe and Munro each had 10 points. Filipe led the Bulldogs in rebounding with seven.
Criner, who had just two points at halftime, ended with a game-high 22 points, five assists and four steals. Cherlanda Franklin scored 13 points and added a career-high seven blocks. Shavon Moore recorded a team-high seven rebounds.
Louisiana Tech 70, Idaho 60

RUSTON, La. ? Shanavia Dowdell and Adrienne Johnson each scored 18 points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 70-60 win over Idaho Friday in conference action at the Thomas Assembly Center.
With the victory, Tech (12-10, 5-3 WAC) completed the regular-season sweep of the Vandals (8-11, 5-3) and pulled even with them in the WAC standings heading into Sunday's match-up against Boise State.
The Techsters shot 40 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the free throw line, compared to the 38, 38 and 78 percent, respectively of the Vandals. LaTech also out-rebounded Idaho 44-35.
In addition to Dowdell and Johnson, Whitney Jones added 11 points and SIdney Stewart chipped in 10 for Tech.
Yinka Olorunnife and Derisa Taleni each scored 18 to lead Idaho.
Boise State 79, New Mexico State 77 (OT)
LAS CRUCES, N.M. ? Janie Bos scored with four seconds left in overtime as Boise State rallied to defeat New Mexico State 79-77 Friday.
With the win, the Broncos improve to 12-10 overall and 5-3 in WAC play, moving them into a three-way tie for third place with Louisiana Tech and Idaho. The loss drops New Mexico State to 6-16 on the year and 2-6 in league play.
New Mexico State shot 45 percent on the game and held the Broncos to 36 percent shooting. However, Boise State countered with 10 three-pointers and 24 points in the paint.
Five Broncos scored double-figure points, led by Jamia Malone’s career-high 19. Two Broncos finished the game with double-doubles as Bos recorded her third of the season with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while Melissa Rima netted her first on career-highs for points and rebounds with 10 each. Brittany Moore chipped in 12 points and Marisa Stotler finished with 10.
New Mexico State had three players in double-figure scoring. Both Danisha Corbett and Madison Spence recorded 22 points and four rebounds, while Spence added a team-best five assists. Tyshae Walton had 11 first half points before finishing with 14.
Hawai?i 64, San Jose State 48

HONOLULU, Hawai?i ? Hawai`i jumped in front of San Jose State early and cruised to a 64-48 victory over the Spartans at the Stan Sheriff Center Friday night.
With the win the Rainbow Wahine improve to 5-17 on the season and 2-7 in conference play. The Spartans fall to 2-20 overall and 1-8 in WAC action. The Rainbow Wahine have now won two out of their last three WAC games.
The Rainbow Wahine connected on 44 percent from the field, 11 percent from three-point range and 68 percent from the free throw line. SJSU shot 33 percent from the field, 20 percent from downtown and 73 percent from the charity stripe on the game. The Rainbow Wahine also dominated the boards, 42-26.
UH was led by Tara Hittle, who recorded her second double-double of the year and the fourth of her career. She had 12 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Dita Liepkalne scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Megan Tinnin added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Sayja Sumler led the Spartans with 17 points, while Natalie White added 12.
