Fresno State 76, San Jose State 47
SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Fresno State took over first place in the WAC on Sunday after beating San Jose State 76-47. The Bulldogs are now 8-2 in WAC play and hold a half-game lead over Nevada, which is 7-2. San Jose State dropped to 2-21 overall and 1-9 in conference.
Fresno State shot 54 percent from the field, while the Spartans were held to 37 percent shooting. Both teams pulled down 31 rebounds, but the Bulldogs forced San Jose State into 20 turnovers while committing just eight.
Jaleesa Ross led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Marnique Arnold had 11 points and Ashley Walker added 10 points.
Kelly Blair and Natalie White scored 10 points apiece to lead SJSU.
Utah State 63, Nevada 52
RENO, Nev. ? In a battle of two of the top defensive players in the WAC, Utah State's Danyelle Snelgro had the slight edge over Nevada's Dellena Criner, scoring a career-high 29 points in the Aggies' 63-52 win over first-place Nevada on Sunday. The win was the Aggies' first win in Reno in four attempts.
With the win, USU broke a two-game losing streak and now stands 11-12, 5-5 in the WAC. Nevada drops its second-straight game and is now 13-9 and 7-2 in conference play.
For the game, Utah State shot 36 percent from the field (19-of-53), while shooting 33 percent from three-point range (4-of-12) and 70 percent from the free throw line (21-of-30). Nevada shot 29 percent from the field (16-of-55), while shooting 29 percent from beyond the arc (2-of-7) and 62 percent from the free throw line (18-of-29). The Aggies out-rebounded Nevada 44-40.
Aside from Snelgro's 29 points, the Aggies also got a career-high 15 rebounds from Alice Coddington.
Criner paced the Wolf Pack with 19 points, while Cherlanda Franklin added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Boise State 66, Louisiana Tech 61

RUSTON, La. ? Boise State rallied from a nine-point second-half deficit for a WAC victory Sunday, defeating Louisiana Tech 66-61. Boise State improved to 13-10 on the year and 6-3 in WAC play. The loss dropped La Tech to 12-11 overall and 5-4 in the league.
Courtney VanBrocklin clinched the Boise State victory when the freshman hit two free throws with three seconds left, giving the visitors a decisive five-point lead. La Tech’s final last second shot fell short.
The Broncos shot 41 percent (23-of-63) from the floor, 26 percent (6-of-23) from beyond the arc and 67 percent (8-of-12) from the foul line. La Tech countered by converting 38 percent (27-of-72) from the floor, eight percent (1-of-13) from three-point range and 38 percent (6-of-16) from the charity stripe.
Brittany Moore led Boise State with 16 points, while Jamia Malone added 12 points to go with eight rebounds and five assists. Marisa Stotler had 11 points, while Janie Bos recorded a team-high 11 rebounds.
Adrienne Johnson led Louisiana Tech with a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Shanavia Dowdell added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Whitney Jones contributed 12 points, four boards and six assists.
Idaho 57, New Mexico State 54
LAS CRUCES, N.M. ? Idaho led for a combined 61 seconds on Sunday at New Mexico State, but the final three ticks were the only ones that mattered as the Vandals defeated the Aggies 57-54 at the Pan Am Center.
Derisa Taleni drilled a pair of free throws with 3.3 seconds remaining to cap off a 12-point comeback and put Idaho up 55-54. The Aggies turned over their in-bounds pass and another two Taleni free throws with less than one second remaining iced the record-setting win.
Idaho is now 9-11 overall and 6-3 in WAC play. The team’s previous season-high WAC win total had been five from the 2006 season ? Idaho’s inaugural year in the conference. NMSU falls to 6-17 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
Taleni led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Rachele Kloke notched 13 points and Shaena Kuehu extended her double-digit scoring streak to 10 games with 11 points. Yinka Oloruniffe pulled down 10 boards in the win.
Corbett led the way for three double-digit Aggie scorers as she dropped 14, while Tabytha Wampler added 12 and Tyshae Walton added 10.
