Illinois State 73, Louisiana Tech 59 (WNIT Second Round)
Normal, Ill. - After erasing a 15-point first-half deficit and holding a slight second-half lead, Louisiana Tech fell 73-59 at Illinois State in the second round of the WNIT Tuesday night. Whitney Jones paced Tech with 21 points, while WAC Player of the Year Shanavia Dowdell just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Louisiana Tech ends the season with a 21-13 record, having won nine of its last 11 games.

Pacific 69, Idaho 59 (CIT Quarterfinals)
Stockton, Calif. - The University of Idaho men's basketball team fell in the quarterfinal round of the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament at the hands of Pacific. Idaho trailed by just two points at halftime, but Pacific used a strong second half to pull away for the 69-59 victory. The Tigers shot 48 percent from the floor in the second half and limited the Vandals to just 35 percent field goal shooting. Pacific turned the ball over just one time and scored eight second-chance points in the second half. Mac Hopson led the Vandals with 16 points but scored just four in the second half. He also added six rebounds and three assists. Marvin Jefferson scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Terrence Simmons scored 11 points in his final game, and Kashif Watson finished with nine points.

California 70, Fresno State 47 (NCAA Women's First Round)
Los Angeles - Despite out-rebounding a much taller California team 38-36, Fresno State fell 70-47 to the Golden Bears in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday. LaShay Fears tied her career-high with 18 points and Marnique Arnold grabbed 11 rebounds for the 13th-seeded Bulldogs (24-9), whose five-game winning streak ended as they went out in the first round for the second consecutive year. The Bulldogs, who lead the nation in three-pointers per game (9.5), connected on just 4-of-18 (22 percent) from downtown and 32 percent (18-of-56) from the field on the game.

Marquette 58, Utah State 57  (NCAA Men's First Round)
Boise, Idaho - Eleventh-seeded Utah State's upset bid of sixth-seeded Marquette came up short with a 58-57 loss Friday in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Taco Bell Arena, hosted by Boise State. Jared Quayle ended with a team-leading 18 points, tying a season-high with four three-pointers. Wilkinson and sophomore forward Tai Wesley netted 15 points apiece while Williams, Newbold and Myaer tallied three points each, all on three-pointers.

Louisiana Tech 77, SMU 54 (WNIT First Round)
Ruston, La. - Adrienne Johnson scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to a 77-54 win over SMU in the first round of the WNIT Thursday. With the win, Tech (21-12) advances to Tuesday's second round game at Illinois State. Shanavia Dowdell added 19 points and 13 rebounds and became the 38th Lady Techster to ever score 1,000 career points when she hit a lay-up at the 12:22 mark of the first half. Whitney Jones scored 11 points despite playing only 16 minutes due to foul trouble. Tech shot 41 percent from the field while holding the Mustangs to only 32. The Lady Techsters also out-rebounded SMU 52-46.

Idaho 69, Drake 67 (CIT First Round)
Moscow, Idaho - Idaho defeated Drake 69-67 in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Five different Vandals scored in double figures, fronted by Trevor Morris' 16 points. Morris connected on 4-of-7 shots from long range. Brandon Wiley and Kashif Watson each scored 13 points, Luciano de Souza had 11 and Mac Hopson helped with 10. Idaho now travels to face Pacific in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The game is slated for Monday, March 23 at a time to be determined.

Stanford 96, Boise State 76 (CBI First Round)
Stanford, Calif. - Stanford defeated Idaho 96-76 at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. on Wednesday night. Kurt Cunningham led Boise State with a game-high 25 points. Ike Okoye had 14 and Aaron Garner had 13.

UTEP 79, Nevada 77 (CBI First Round)
Reno, Nev. (AP) - Freshman Luke Babbitt had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Armon Johnson had 18 points including a 3-pointer that tied the game 77-77 with 8.7 seconds on the clock for Nevada (21-13), which never led after the first 5 minutes of the game and lost a final chance to pull off a comeback when Brandon Fields' 3-point attempt fell short as time expired. The Wolf Pack finished its season with the 79-77 loss to UTEP.
