WAC Women' Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER ? Fresno State’s Roxanne Sellick and Hawai?i’s Amber Kaufman have been named Western Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 30 ? April 5.

Sellick, a senior from Fresno, Calif. (Bullard HS), garnered a first-place finish in 1,500m run this weekend, posting a time of 4:31.00, nearly nine seconds faster than the second-place finisher at the Cal Poly Invitational. Her time is the second-best performance in the WAC.

Kaufman, a sophomore from San Jose, Calif. (Branham HS), was named Field Athlete of the Meet at the Sacramento State Mondo Invitational over the weekend after winning the high jump with a mark of 6-0 (1.83m.) The mark was a new meet record and is tied for the second-best mark in the country this season. Her NCAA regional qualifying mark is also a WAC-best.

Other track nominees: Idaho’s Julia Veseth, Louisiana Tech’s 4x400 relay team and Utah State’s Ashlee Cannon.

Other field nominees: Boise State’s Sasa Kampic, Fresno State’s Sharon Ayala, Idaho’s Lindsey Beard, Louisiana Tech’s Nadia Alexander and Utah State’s Krista Larson.
