DENVER ? The 2009 edition of the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship presented by Springhill Suites travels to Logan, Utah for the first time. During the four-day event, five men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete for the 2009 title at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium May 13 ? 16. The Boise State men look to defend its 2008 crown after they beat out Utah State by a mere seven points in 2008. On the women’s side, Louisiana Tech ran away with last year’s title after garnering 173 points, 51 points better than second-place finisher Fresno State.
Both the Boise State men and the Louisiana Tech women captured this year’s WAC Indoor Championship titles.
Competition is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday, beginning with decathlon and heptathlon events running the first two days. The rest of the championship events are slated to start on Friday with the finals in all events ending on Saturday.
