Q: When and why did you start to play baseball?
A: I started playing t-ball at the age of five because all the other kids were doing it.
Q: What other sports did you play growing up?
A: I played football for one year and I wrestled for three years in middle school into high school.
Q: What has been your most rewarding experience off the field?
A: Learning from my mistakes and realizing that my family will always be there to support me.
Q: Why did you choose to attend the University of Nevada?
A: I liked the facilities and the overall atmosphere.
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Spending time with my grandparents and playing outside. Also, hunting with my dad and brother.
Q: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far as a student-athlete?
Maintaining over a 3.0 grade point average has been very rewarding.
Q: What do you still hope to accomplish as a student-athlete?
A: To maintain a healthy GPA and graduate.
Q: What's on your iPod?
A: Everything! I am a drummer so I love all music.....from Led Zeppelin, to Brad Paisley. I even enjoy listening to old school jazz and classical selections. Anything that moves me basically. Not a huge fan of the rap music though, unless I can dance to it.
Q: What do you like to do when you are away from the field?
A: I like to play the drums, and shoot ducks. I love duck hunting with friends and family. In the summer, I spend time on the boat wakeboarding.
Q: Name your favorite class...
A: Political Science 407Q....its a class on global terrorism.
Q: What is your game day routine?
A: Wake up around the same time each day, make sure I eat breakfast and make a pre-game sandwich, show up to the field early so I am not rushing, listen to my hitting tape I put on my iPod, mentally prepare myself for what I want to accomplish on that certain day, as well as go over what to expect from the opposing team.
Q: What are your expectations for your team this season?
A: WAC championship first and foremost, and then move on from there.
Q: What is your favorite television show?
A: The Office and Baseball Tonight. Man vs. Wild is cool too.
Q: Who has influenced you the most?
A: My parents and my Grandpa Dave.
Q: What do you want to do after college?
A: Play ball. If that doesn't work out, then I would like to go into sales or become a firefighter so I can save people.
Q: What is the best advice you have received?
A: From my brother-in-law about women. "Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy."
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
A: Joe Mauer from the Twins-another tall catcher.
Q: If Hollywood were to make a movie about your life, which actor would play your role?
A; A good-looking fellow no doubt. I would have to go with Hugh Jackman.
Q: If you were to win a million dollars what would be your first purchase?
A; Probably a home.
Q: Describe the perfect meal...
A: Summer night. Barbequed Tri-tip and Pork Ribs, grilled artichokes with spicy aoli sauce, mashed potatoes, juicy watermelon, baked beans, my mom's macaroni salad, and for desert, apple pie with Breyer's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on top.
