Hawai'i
The Rainbow Wahine claimed the title at The Honolulu Advertiser Volleyball Challenge, defeating Weber State, UT-San Antonio and No. 10 Stanford. Kanani Danielson was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament after averaging 3.78 kills on .466 hitting, 2.11 digs and 0.78 blocks. Joining her on the all-tournament team were Amber Kaufman and Dani Mafua. Kaufman averaged 3.25 kills on .590 hitting to go along with 0.75 blocks and 0.62 service aces per set. Mafua averaged 12.33 assists, 1.33 digs and 1.11 blocks.
Utah State
The Aggies took the title at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament, defeating The Citadel, Wyoming and host Northern Arizona. Liz McArthur was named Most Valuable Player after she hit .360 and averaged 4.30 kills, 1.00 digs and 0.60 blocks per set. Shantell Durrant and Chelsea Fowles were also named to the all-tournament team. Durrant hit .353 and averaged 1.60 kills and 1.70 blocks per set. Fowles averaged 9.36 assists, 1.00 digs, 0.82 kills, 0.45 service aces and 0.36 blocks per set.
Louisiana Tech
The Techsters went 2-2 at the Sugar Bear Classic, falling to Central Arkansas and Air Force before defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Louisiana-Monroe.
Fresno State
The Bulldogs went 1-2 at the Hornet Invitational, defeating Alabama and falling to Sacramento State and San Francisco. Lauren Berger was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 2.30 kills, 0.92 digs and 0.54 blocks.
Nevada
The Wolf Pack went 1-2 at the Circus Circus Invitational, falling to UC Davis and Portland State and defeating Sam Houston State. Lindsay Baldwin and Kylie Harrington were named to the all-tournament team. Baldwin averaged 2.45 kills and 1.23 blocks per set, while Harrington averaged 3.85 kills and 2.00 digs per set.
Idaho
The Vandals went 0-2 at the Nike Cougar Challenge, falling to Washington State and Cal State Northridge.
New Mexico State
The Aggies went 0-2 at the Notre Dame/adidas Invitational, falling to Wisconsin and Notre Dame.
San Jose State
The Spartans went 0-2 at the Molten/Hilton Garden Inn Classic, falling to Eastern Washington and No. 13 California.
Boise State
The Broncos went 0-3 at the Crowne Plaza LAX Invitational, falling to No. 20 UC Irvine, host Loyola Marymount and Houston. Sophomore setter Breann Nesselhuf was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 6.40 assists, 2.30 digs and 0.50 blocks over the three matches.
