Nevada 64, Boise State 52
Kayla Williams recorded her second career double-double and led four Nevada players in double figures as the Wolf Pack beat Boise State 64-52 Saturday night in Reno.

With the win, Nevada improves to 8-8 overall and 2-0 in WAC play, while Boise State falls to 11-5 overall amd 0-2 in the WAC.

As a team, the Pack shot 37 percent (19-of-51) from the floor, while the Broncos shot 35 percent (19-of-55). Nevada out-rebounded Boise State 48-30 in the game and the Pack recorded 15 assists on 19 field goals.

Kalya Williams scored 14 points and added 11 rebounds while Tahnee Robinson scored a team-high 15 for the Pack. Shavon Moore scored 13 points and added eight boards while Nicole Williams added 11 points.

Boise State was led by Jessica Van Hoogen with a game-high 16 points.


Fresno State 72, Idaho 64
Fresno State went on a 30-11 run over the final 10 minutes of the game to beat Idaho 72-64 on Saturday afternoon at the Cowan Spectrum. The win ups the Bulldogs record to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the WAC, while Idaho drops to 2-12 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Both teams shot 48 percent from the field on the game, but Fresno State out-rebounded Idaho 33-30. The Bulldogs had 15 assists and forced the Vandals into 19 turnovers.

Jaleesa Ross led the Dogs with 15 points, a career-high eight assists and six rebounds. Joh-Teena Filipe had 14 points and a team-best seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Hayley Munro 12 points and was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range.

Rachele Kloke scored a game-high 26 points to pace the Vandals, followed by Charlotte Otero with 12, Yinka Olorunnife with 11 and Shaena-Lyn Kuehu with 10.


New Mexico State 73, Hawai'i 51

New Mexico State won its sixth consecutive game Saturday, a 73-51 victory over Hawai'i in the Aggies' WAC home opener at the Pan American Center.

With the win, the Aggies improve to 12-4 overall and remain undefeated in the WAC at 2-0. Hawai'i falls to 6-9 on the season and drops to 0-2 in the WAC.

The Aggies scored a season-high 13 three-pointers in the win, led by Madison Spence with five and Danisha Corbett with four. NM State also tied a season high mark totaling 19 assists and swiped 10 steals against the Rainbow Wahine.

Jasmine Lowe led four Aggies in double figures with 17 points, followed  by Spence with 15. Corbett tallied 14 points, while Crystal Boyd added 11 points for her 11th-straight game in double-digit scoring.

Keisha Kanekoa led Hawai'i with nine points, while Dita Liepkalne added eight.


Utah State 65, San Jose State 54
Utah State won its sixth-straight game Saturday with a 65-54 defeat of San Jose State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The six-game winning streak is USU's longest since 1977-78.

With the win, Utah State improves to 10-5 overall and opened WAC action with a 2-0 mark, the Aggies' second time in three seasons winning their first two league games, doing so in 2007-08. Saturday was USU's seventh win at home in eight contests on its home court, improving to 7-1.

San Jose State falls to 4-11 overall and 0-2 in WAC play. It was the Spartans' second loss in a row, and fourth in the last five games. Saturday was SJSU's 16th-straight WAC loss.

USU finished the night at 24-of-57 (42 percent) from the field, 50 percent (7-of-14) from three-point range and 63 percent (10-of-16) from the free throw line. SJSU shot 36 percent (20-of-56) from the field, 50 percent from three-point range (4-of-8) and 83 percent (10-of-12) from the free throw line.

Amber White netted 18 points for the second game in a row and the fifth time this season in tallying double figures. LaCale Pringle-Buchanan added 13 points off the bench, while Alice Coddington posted 10 points to go with a game and career-high seven assists. Nicole Johnson added a season-high nine points.

Lydia Whitehead snared a season-high 14 rebounds, helping USU to a 39-35 rebounding edge. Saturday was Whitehead's fifth double-digit rebounding outing, including the fourth in the last seven games.

SJSU was led by a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds from Chasity Shavers, while Sayja Sumler added 10 points.
