Louisiana Tech 77, Idaho 71

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Kyle Gibson scored 28 points to lead Louisiana Tech over Idaho 77-71 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (15-2, 3-0 Western Athletic) won their eighth in a row by shooting 57 percent from the field and going 17 of 24 from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs had three players in double figures with DeAndre Brown scoring 19 points and Olu Ashaolu adding 12 and grabbing nine rebounds.

The Vandals (8-6, 1-2) were led by Mac Hopson, who scored 24 points. Steffan Johnson added 13.

Idaho outrebounded the Bulldogs 30-28, with Hopson and Marvin Jefferson each pulling down eight.



Nevada 96, San Jose State 67



RENO, Nev. -- Armon Johnson had 23 points and Luke Babbitt 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Nevada over San Jose State 96-67 on Saturday night.

Brandon Fields added 19 points and Joey Shaw 11 for the Wolf Pack (10-6, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference).

Adrian Oliver had 20 points, C.J. Webster 15 and Chris Oakes 13 for the Spartans (8-6, 1-1 WAC).

Nevada led by double digits for the entire second half. San Jose State was able to cut the lead to 10 points at 60-50 with 14:45 left in the game, but the Wolf Pack answered with a 15-6 run over the next six minutes to put the game away.

Nevada never trailed in the game, going ahead by double digits at 20-8 on a 3-pointer by Ray Kraemer with 13:08 left in the first half. The Spartans could get no closer than 10 points the rest of the game.



New Mexico State 88, Boise State 85



BOISE, Idaho -- Jonathan Gibson scored 26 points to lead New Mexico State to an 88-85 victory over Boise State on Saturday.

Gibson connected on four 3-point baskets, including one from the left baseline with one minute remaining, to put New Mexico State (9-7, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference) ahead to stay. The victory was the Aggies' sixth in seven games.

Boise State (9-7, 0-3) had a chance to force overtime but missed three 3-point shots in the final 17 seconds. Anthony Thomas' last-second attempt with two New Mexico State defenders draped on him didn't draw rim.

Jahmar Young added 19 points for New Mexico State, which made 13 3-point baskets and shot 55.2 percent overall.

Robert Arnold scored 26 points to lead Boise State. The Broncos scored 11 consecutive points to take an 85-81 edge with 1:53 to play and kept the lead until Gibson's decisive 3.



Fresno State 78, Hawai‘i 64



FRESNO, Calif. -- Paul George scored 21 points as Fresno State used a late first-half scoring run to defeat Hawaii 78-64 Saturday night.

Sylvester Seay added 17 points for Fresno State (9-7, 2-0 Western Athletic). George had nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Jeremy Lay scored 14 points for Hawaii (8-8, 1-2), which committed 20 turnovers. Roderick Flemings added 13 points, all in the second half.

Fresno State closed the first half with a 19-5 run that broke open the game. The Bulldogs forced Hawaii into 15 first-half turnovers, resulting in numerous dunks and layups.

After trailing 47-29 at half, Hawaii got no closer than 16 points until the final minute.
