Louisiana Tech 79, Boise State 64


BOISE, Idaho (AP)-- Magnum Rolle scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to a 79-64 victory over Boise State Monday night.

Louisiana Tech (16-2, 4-0 Western Athletic) registered its ninth straight win and fourth straight road victory.

Nursing a small lead for most of the second half, Louisiana Tech broke the game open with some sharp outside shooting. Jamel Guyton hit a pair of 3-pointers on consecutive possessions before Kyle Gibson added a 3-pointer to extend the Bulldogs' lead to 64-53 with 8:40 to go.

Kyle Gibson, who entered the night as the WAC's leading scorer, was held to four points in the first half before finishing with 17. DeAndre Brown scored 15 and Jamel Guyton 13 for Louisiana Tech.

Boise State (9-8, 0-4) was led by Robert Arnold with 18 points and Anthony Thomas with 15. Ike Okoye pulled down 14 rebounds for the Broncos.



New Mexico State 75, Idaho 72


MOSCOW, Idaho (AP)-- New Mexico State's Jahmar Young was a one-man wrecking crew, scoring 19 of his game-high 31 points in the final 7:36 to lead the Aggies past Idaho 75-72 Monday night.

With just over seven minutes remaining, New Mexico State (10-7, 3-1 Western Athletic) trailed 54-51, but Young took over the game and scored all but four of the Aggies' final 23 points.

Jonathan Gibson joined Young in double figures with 19 points. Mac Hopson led the Vandals (8-7, 1-3) with 17 points while Kashif Watson added 16 and Luiz Toledo had 12.

Idaho had 16 turnovers that led to 23 New Mexico State points. The Aggies led 36-34 at halftime.



Fresno State 80, San Jose State 70



FRESNO, Calif. (AP)-- Paul George scored 29 points, including 10 straight in the second half, to carry Fresno State over San Jose State 80-70 on Monday night.

Sylvester Seay added 19 points for Fresno State (10-7, 3-0 Western Athletic) and Mike Ladd had 15.

Mac Peterson scored a career-high 21 points for San Jose State (8-7, 1-2), going 7-for-12 from behind the arc. The seven 3-pointers tied a school record. Chris Oakes added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

After an Adrian Oliver layup with 8:48 remaining brought the Spartans within 56-54, Greg Smith put back his own miss to begin a 14-6 Bulldogs run.

George then went to work, hitting a layup, a fall-away jumper and two 3-pointers in a span of 3:18. Seay capped the surge with a post move on Oakes to make it 70-60 with 4:03 left.

The Bulldogs limited Oliver to 12 points, eight below his season average.



Utah State 98, Hawai‘i 54



LOGAN, Utah (AP)-- Tyler Newbold scored 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from 3-point range to pace Utah State as they ran past Hawaii 98-54 Monday night.

Tai Wesley and Nate Bendall also scored 15 for Utah State (11-6, 1-2 Western Athletic Conference) and Wesley grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. The Aggies shot 11-of-16, 69 percent, from the 3-point line.

Hawaii (8-9, 1-3) was led by Dwain Williams with 12 points and Brandon Adams had 10. Hawaii's top scorer, Roderick Flemings, was held to eight points.

The Aggies led by 79-33 with 11:47 remaining. Hawaii could not penetrate Utah State's zone defense, gaining only four points in the paint during the first 10 minutes of the second half.

The Aggies shot 73.1 percent from the field in the first half and had seven steals on its way to a 54-26 halftime lead.
