DENVER - Boise State's Amber Boucher and Northern Arizona's Kristy Ardavanis were named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Boucher, a sophomore from Keizer, Ore. (McNary HS), helped the Broncos to wins over Tulane and San Diego with a perfect record in her individual events last week. On Thursday, she beat out the competition from San Diego State and Tulane in the 50 free (23.54) and the 100 fly (55.85) as well as helping the 400 free relay team (3:27.67) to a first-place finish over both teams. On Saturday, Boucher helped both of her relay teams to victories over San Diego while also winning the 100 fly (56.43) and 200 free (1:51.54).  The times she posted in the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 free and the lead-off leg of the 400 free relay (50.69) on Thursday are the second best in those events by any WAC swimmer this year.

Ardavanis, a freshman from Gilbert, Ariz. (Mesquite HS), recorded her first career victories in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against Idaho last Saturday.  She finished with scores of 275.55 on the 1-meter and 310.43 on the 3-meter.  The previous day, she finished third on the 3-meter against 2nd-ranked Arizona with a score of 313.05.
